We Held Hands

WH and I attended a concert the other week with a group of friends. We had a great time. We even hung out with the band a bit afterward by some sheer luck.

The next morning, one of the friends tags us in a FB post. Many photos were taken, but the one the poster said was the favorite was one of us holding hands. We didn’t stage it, didn’t even know it was being taken. But there it was. A silhouette of us from the back as a couple holding hands unaware of anyone noticing. Hands coupled, me with my head leaning towards his shoulder and him with his head turned down to look lovingly at me.

This is how we present and project as a couple. We are the couple that others aspire to be. We are the couple our friend’s envy. The LTA is long distant and become a dirty little secret of sorts. We don’t let it define us. It may be part of our past, part of our story. But it is not part of our present and our future.

The only thing that other’s see when they look at us is love and adoration.

For some reason – this makes me walk a bit taller today. And a bit sparklier 😊

Also posted in Positive Reconciliation Stories at the suggestion of Unhinged and Want2BHappyAgain

And yes Unhinged - he is very lucky to have been able to hold the hand of the BASGU that is me [Chaos]. He knows this. And so do I.

I have a print of this ordered for a frame - thanks hikingout for the suggestion.
